The privacy and security program will prepare students to serve as institutional/ organizational information privacy or information security officers. The specific competencies in this program include:
implement solutions that ensure confidentiality, security, and integrity while maximizing availability of information for public health;
collaborate on solutions for exchange of data between clinical, public health, and consumer health information systems; and
demonstrate knowledge of technical informatics/computer science, e.g. network architectures and topologies, telecommunications, wireless technology, virtual reality, multimedia.
